Three Easy to Make Healthy Flat Bread Sandwiches
Flat bread is most commonly eaten during meals in Middle Eastern nations and India. Restaurants that serve food from this part of the world offer flat bread, usually called na’an, as a side dish with olive oil.
Flat bread brand names like Stonefire and Toufayan can be found in supermarkets such as across the nation. The following three flat bread sandwiches can be made for lunch, supper, or just as a quick snack when you are on the go.
Flat bread egg sandwich
This sandwich is also great for breakfast, but can be eaten at any time of the day. To make one egg sandwich, you will need:
one slice of flat bread
2 eggs
olive oil
salt
slice of tomato
pepper
Pour a little bit of olive oil in the frying pan. Cook the eggs over hard in the pan over low heat, turning over when one side is done. Fold the eggs in half, making space for the tomato in the empty side of the pan. Cut the piece of flat bread in half. Take one half, then cut across again so that the two pieces look like pie wedges. When the eggs are done, place them on one piece of the bread, then the tomatoes on top. Add a pinch of salt and pepper, place the second piece of flat bread on top, and enjoy.
Flat bread chicken sandwiches
To make two grilled chicken sandwiches:
one slice of flat bread
2 chicken breast slices, about 1/2″ thick
olive oil
handful of raw spinach leaves, washed
salt
pepper
Grill the chicken breast slices on a foil-lined pan in the oven, turning over both sides until they are done. Cut the slice of flat bread into quarters. Use a vegetable brush or knife to lightly spread a little bit of olive oil on one side of each bread slice. When the chicken breast slices are ready, place each piece on one flat bread slice. Add a few spinach leaves on the chicken before placing the other slice of bread on top.
Flat bread roast beef sandwich
For this delicious sandwich, you will need:
one slice of flat bread
olive oil
4 to 5 slices of roast beef
3 or 4 slices of green bell peppers
Optional: 2 or 3 slices of onions
The roast beef can be either heated on a stove top in a pan or microwave, or remain cold for this sandwich. In a small frying pan, heat up a tablespoon of olive oil. Add the slices of green bell peppers in the pan, along with the onions if desired. Cook over medium heat until they are done. Cut one slice of flat bread in half down the center. Fold the roast beef slices on one bread half, then the cooked peppers and onions. Place the top layer of bread on the sandwich, and enjoy.
